If you thought that cats from Smirnoff were going to launch their latest beverage Smirnoff Double Black in a quiet, inner circle only manner, well, you were very much mistaken. Today, they’ve announced a series of pop-up events taking place right here in Sydney, bringing in some big-name musical talent to kick this launch off in a big, big way.
Taking over 505 in Surry Hills and transforming it into the Double Black House, Smirnoff will be ringing in the series of live events by handing the keys over to the team at Future Classic, who have tagged Listen Out participant and guaranteed party-starter Touch Sensitive. The first event, kicking off on Thursday, 31st October will also see Charles Murdoch wing in from Brisbane for a set of sophisticated cerebral bass and house music.
Once the party is officially launched, the show will kick on to the following Friday evenings.
The Double Black House will be totally decked out for the event, incorporating a black-on-black theme – from bathtubs filled with black ping pong balls to ironing board DJ decks and a kitchen filled with matte black appliances, they’ve covered all their bases to ensure the show is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
After three Fridays’ worth of mayhem wrapping up on 15th November, the venue will be returned back to its regular ‘business as usual’ state, which doesn’t leave much room for error should you be interested in attending. Given that Touch Sensitive sold out their last show at a venue four times the size, this is sure to be the kind of box social no-one wants to miss out on. It’s also noteworthy that, with a capacity of 160 people at the Double Black House, you’ll be fighting tooth and nail for these exclusive tickets.
