US music icon Beyoncé has sent the internet into a spin, following up a few days of speculation by announcing both the release date and title of her forthcoming seventh album, Renaissance.
News of the upcoming record was announced via TIDAL earlier this afternoon when the streaming service shared out a simple image that revealed Beyoncé’s new album would be titled Renaissance and would arrive on July 29th. The image (whose information was later echoed in Beyoncé’s Twitter biography) also noted that Renaissance was “act i”, indicating that this will likely be the first of more music to follow.
While physical pre-orders of the record have been put up on Beyoncé’s website, fans have since discovered that the record will feature a total of 16 tracks, though none have been officially named as yet.

Rumours of Beyoncé beginning the campaign for her new album started earlier this month after the singer removed all profile pictures across her social accounts, and later included a since-deleted message on her website that asked visitors, “WHAT IS A B7?”
The forthcoming Renaissance album will serve as Beyoncé’s seventh album (thus, “B7”), and will be her first full-length record since 2016’s Lemonade. Hypebae has also reported that references to a “B8” were also present on the singer’s website, indicating that information regarding a follow-up record will also be announced at some point.
