Miley Cyrus Announces New Album ‘Plastic Hearts’

Three years after the release of her last album, Miley Cyrus has finally announced details around her forthcoming seventh studio album Plastic Hearts.

Taking to social media earlier this weekend, Cyrus revealed that she’s been working on this album shortly after the release of 2017’s Younger Now.

“I began this album over 2 years ago,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record—its songs/sounds but my whole fucking life. No one checks an ego like life itself.”

She then went on to explain how losing her home the 2018 California wildfires inspired the album.

“Just when I thought the body of work was finished it was all erased, including most of the music’s relevance because everything had changed,” she wrote.

“Nature did what I now see as a favour and destroyed what I couldn’t let go of for myself. I lost my house in a fire but found myself in its ashes.”

In a separate note on Twitter, Cyrus ended her statement with “Think you’ll love it – if you don’t, fuck you.”

Plastic Hearts is set for release on Friday, 27th November. While the full tracklist hasn’t been revealed just yet, we know that the album will feature lead single ‘Midnight Sky’ as well as two of Cyrus’ widely-acclaimed live covered she’s performed recently – Blondie’s ‘Heart Of Glass‘ and The Cranberries’ ‘Zombie‘.
